Family Tree
Wanted: caring people to adopt cuttings from our beautiful jade tree. Some cuttings have been grown into small jade trees and already transplanted into nice pots; others are just small starts in temporary plastic containers. All are FREE. The only catch is that you must agree to email a photo of your jade plant once a year for as long as it lives. We want to keep track of our “family tree”.
Jades make great companions and are one of the easiest, most low-maintenance plants to grow. They can be trained into bonsai trees or left alone to grow into all kinds of interesting shapes. The care of a jade is notoriously hard to screw up – just let the soil dry completely between waterings. The most common mistake is over-watering. They can do well in sun and partial shade. More info here.
You’ll get an email once a year, on the anniversary of your jade’s adoption, asking for a photo of your plant. That’s the extent of the involvement you’re committing to. (Of course, we’d love it if you started your own branch of the family tree and found willing adopters of your jade’s cuttings – but that’s optional.)
Please contact us for adoption appointments. This is not a joke. Serious inquiries only.
